Obstruction Piece

PROMPTS FOR OBSTRUCTION:

1. 22″ square (not used)
2. Use a blindfold
3. Make it laugh

QUESTIONS:

1. I actually had to think a lot about how to use the “make it laugh” prompt. When I was trying to find something that I could use in this prompt, I felt infuriated and provoked. Additionally, I wanted to do the background blindfolded because I thought it would make the piece look the best.
2. I believe if I used this process for three months, I would produce a good amount of nice work, and I would perfect the art of thinking out of the box.
3. If I weren’t given this restriction, I really would have never made a piece like this. This makes me feel very grateful for the project we did today.
4. I really like the limitations and restrictions projects, so I hope we can do more things like this in the future, and I’m excited to start my own project in this unit.
