Bad Art / Good Art

Still life: To create this piece I started off putting down the basic lines and placements for the different parts of this piece. After, getting the basics down I then started to find shadows and highlights of the piece. After each part of this piece was determined of the paper, I began to work into the details of the photo. I worked on getting the pots different color changes and they way it wraps around the place. I have improved on my skills of blending harsh lines giving the piece a more realistic look.

Portrait: While drawing my portraits. One being alone at home, and the other being done in class. I learned how to better look a something (myself in this project) and try fitting it to the size of the paper. I learned how to better work with charcoal and working on fading lines out where their not needed.

Bad art: My work has different things happening all at once. The mixing of colors and unorganized designing makes these pieces “bad”. If the pieces had a plan of design picked out before starting then the piece could give a better look. The piece Bloody Mary ( hand prints) is a good art piece because it was designed with a plan ahead of time on how it would be made instead of just being made from random ideas. A piece of art can be determined as good or bad from how the viewer sees it verse the artist. Also, on the style used to make it and how the piece was presented. My work says how I put a darker theme into my work and don’t always look for perfection in the work but a feeling or meaning someone could connect to.
