Loss

My inspiration for this project was the loss of my childhood home. This home was surrounded by pine trees, and me and my brother would always play games in these trees and there would be pinecones everywhere. This aspect of my childhood home is reflected in the piece through the pinecone acting as a mouth, and the pine needles branching off of that. The biggest challenge I encountered while working on this project was making the pinecone. It took a lot of time making each piece and required a lot of precision. This project tied together other concepts I have learned by using techniques to create texture, similar to how you would to draw something. My favorite part of this assignment was glazing it in the end.
