My bowl project is a unique piece of pottery, and includes many different aspects. On the inside of my bowl I painted colored wavy stripes. My inspiration for the stripes was a design that seems to be a popular pattern at the moment (I attached a picture of my specific inspiration below).

I tried to keep all the stripes within my favorite color scheme. For the outside of my bowl, I was hoping to paint it with a simple mint colored glaze, but came to realize that it looked very plain, I then decided to add a brown rim along the edge of the bowl, but then spilled it. I got the idea to paint drips on the side to save the bowl without having to completely paint it again. My inspiration for the outside of the bowl is mint chocolate chip ice cream, which is my favorite ice cream. Overall, I do like my bowl and enjoyed the project, and to quote Bob Ross, my bowl was a “happy accident”, although I spilled the glaze over the rim, the drips on the edge add a nice finishing touch to the overall appearance.

(I will update this post with a picture of my finished bowl after it gets fired in the kiln.)
