What did you learn about composition? How did you apply these skills to your piece?

I learned how different elements go well together and how using certain color harmonies can affect the look of a specific piece.

What color harmony did you choose? Why? How does it relate to your work?

I chose to use a monochromatic color harmony, using shades of blue. I chose this color harmony because it gives a simple look to the figures that would otherwise look crowded or busy .

What did you learn about colored pencils?

I learned that having sharpened colored pencils is very useful to giving the colors a solid look.

What would you change if you worked on a project like this in the future?

I would give myself more time and not rush myself to fill in spots. I might also be more strategic about where specific shades and colors would go.

What was hard? What do you like about your project? What was easy?

I found that filling in each part of the piece and making the colored pencil look solid was difficult because it continued to have a grainy look to it and many drawing lines were still visible. I like how the monochromatic color harmony works with the different shades of blue. I also like how solid the piece looks, especially on the edges of the page where we taped off. I found the initial planning and sketching of the piece relatively easy as I could experiment and test different colors without having to worry.
