BLM Fist – Images of Black People Murdered Due to Police Brutality

The majority of this project was spent collecting images. I started this project by finding a resource that had a list of names of people who have been murdered due to police brutality. I had to narrow the search down to a specific timeframe because there would have been thousands of names. The timeline I picked was deaths since the murder of George Floyd, which left me with two hundred and twenty nine names. The hardest part of this project was finding the photos, because even though I had a list of names not all of these people had media coverage. Some of them were even un-named because the police didn’t release their names. I really enjoyed learning some of their stories and their lived before they were taken. If I did this project again I would love to include more than 70 people and learn all of the their backgrounds.
