Bad Art

While I was creating this piece, I was focusing on making the colours clash, and generally look bad. I didn’t have much of an idea going into this piece, which also helped it look bad because I didn’t take much thought while painting. A way to make this piece better would to change the colours by making them complement each other. I could also make the sharpie lines straighter. If I had to pick a detail in my art that was good, it would be the dark green square, with the pink and white splatter. The squares’ colours compliment each other the best. When looking at art, the characteristics I would use to determine if the piece was good would be the way the colours complement and contrast each other. I also look for a meaning behind the piece; why did they make it? I believe most art looks good if it doesn’t look like a 3-year-old could recreate it. My work shows the spontaneous side of me. That I don’t show in art most of the time. I prefer to take my time on my artwork and have a thought process while creating it.
