Notions of Home

The inspiration for my project is my baby blanket which I have had my entire life. I had two challenges when creating the piece. The first was to manipulate the clay so that it would appear to be fabric like, the second challenge was finding the right color to glaze my piece with. I ended up coming out a color I was not expecting which I then improvised and decided to spray paint it white. This project ties in with the concept of a clay sculpture and how to work with clay. My favorite part was seeing the shape of the clay/ blanket come to life and getting to decide how the blanket is positioned.
