How much did you know about drawing portraits before we started? I did not know a lot about self portraits at all.
What process did you go through to produce this piece? I started off with a sketchbook drawing then moved onto another self portrait sketch then moved onto the final piece with charcoal.
In what ways have you gotten better at this kind of work? In what ways can you improve? I got better at blending the charcoal and using the materials in the correct way. I can improve on knowing how much of something i need to use material wise.
How do you feel about this piece of work? What parts of it do you particularly like? Dislike? Why? What did/do you enjoy about this piece or work? I feel really well about my final product i really like how my face turned out. I dislike how dark i made somethings when i didnt need to.
Did you do your work the way other people did theirs? In what ways did you do it differently? In what ways was your work or process similar? I worked somewhat similar i just worked at my own pace compared to others.
What’s the one thing that you have seen in your classmates’ work or process that you would like to try in your next piece? Some people really blended their hair well and thats something i would want to do
How do artists create detailed portraits expressing the personality of the person that is drawn? the details that i used to express myself were my curly hair, eyelashes and my cheek bones i used to express myself.
