Charcoal Portrait



- How much did you know about drawing portraits before we started?
- I knew a little bit about perspective from Cameron but, bedsides that, nothing.
- What process did you go through to produce this piece?
- first, I traced my face on carboard then, used dark and gray charcoal to make the dark parts of my face.
- In what ways have you gotten better at this kind of work? In what ways can you improve?
- i have gotten better at identifying the different shades of gray. The shapes of the shadows.
- How do you feel about this piece of work? What parts of it do you particularly like? Dislike? Why?
- I feel good about the portraits relative to the amount of time spent on it. I like the dark shading on the left side of the face. I dislike the nose, chin, and any highlights.
