Notions of Home

My inspiration for this project was my childhood and how it is disappearing. The childhood aspect of this project was the play-set that I used in my backyard as a kid, and the school notes/anxiety medications piled on top play the role of growing up and losing my childhood. The biggest challenge I faced during the project was fitting the pieces of the playground together after they were wrapped in plaster sheets. This project showed the concept of “notion,” similar to themes I have used in past projects, such as death or losing something/someone. My favourite part of this project was seeing everything come together at the end and scanning miniature versions of my class notes.
