collage sunset

For this project I found David Hockney’s work very fascinating how he takes multiple photos of the same object, person, or landscape and fits them together like puzzle pieces. The highlight of this project had to have been making the photos all come together to create one piece. The first one I made was the sunset photo at first I was confused on how to take bits of the photos without having to have multiple of the same photo open. But I ended up figuring out I could keep reusing the same photo over and over and using a tool in photoshop. Figuring this out made it easier to make multiple for this project. I would love to do something similar to this again but print it out and add a 3d element to it. One of my original ideas was to use a photo of a body of water for the background and collage it like these photos and then print it out and put wrappers on it. As an example of consumer culture and showing how people are constantly throwing out stuff instead of recycling.

  1. I like the way you made multiple collages,I wish/what if you used smaller pieces of photos to create the same collage, or had a similar theme throughout each to tie them together.

  2. I like how there are some spots that are white/ spaced out which really makes it abstract. I wish there could have been some other elements to it like drawings or other pieces of paper. What if you added little doodles in some of the pictures just to make you have to look more deeply.

  3. I like how the edges of each cut out don’t completely line up.
I wish the background was more of a cool tone to make your collage stand out.
What if you added some more shape to the overall collage by arranging the pieces a certain way.
