Portrait
Finished charcoal portrait
-I did not know much about drawing portraits before I did the charcoal portrait.
- The process began with us all doing a practice sketch in our notebooks well looking through a mirror.
- I think tracing a picture of myself helped a lot, it made me not need to worry about shaping the head right, I just had to focus on following the line and shading.
- I just really like that I was able to make something realistic looking instead of cartoony sketchs. I know I didn’t “make it” 100% on my own but I am still proud of myself. I am happy how clean and nice looking overall it is.
- I wasn’t really focusing on how others did theirs, I just wanted to focus on my own work, I would ask some people for shading advice.
- I saw alot of people used white, I used a whole lot of black, maybe next time I could try some white or gray in my art.
- I think the way artists show the persons personality in their portraits is by asking them to do specific poses. I just did a goofy one but maybe next time I could try something else.I think the eyes could also help show personality.
